The Film Studies Club focuses on literature and humanities to explore cinema as art, storytelling and culture. In this club, we will analyze various films related to different topics, especially literary works including Othello and The Great Gatsby, which are required reading for 9th grade. Through discussions, screenings, and collaborative analysis, members will develop critical thinking and gain a better understanding of honors literature and history courses. The club helps pre-high school students preview high school coursework and explore their interests in future high school subjects.
Members analyze films and create their own projects as final works, developing critical viewing skills and understanding cinematic techniques that shape storytelling in motion pictures.
