Write and produce your own music – from songwriting to DJ work.
Music composing club is a collaborative group where members gather to write, arrange, and share original music. It provides a dedicated space for musicians, producers, and songwriters to workshop their creative ideas, learn new production techniques, and receive constructive feedback from peers. The club is here to help students who want to create their own music but are not equipped with enough knowledge. We will help them develop their music composing skills and make ideas into an actual plan and potentially an album. Music composing club members will learn basic songwriting, including writing lyrics, constructing a basic melody and rhythm, and basic music theory. We will cover traditional songwriting (using musical notation) and songwriting using music technology such as GarageBand and Logic Pro so students will be able to skillfully use these tools later for their own song creation. Students should at least be familiar with one instrument.
Members learn songwriting basics through online video lessons, experiment with music technology like Ableton or FL Studio, practice for school performances, and publish music online. The club aims to become a “record label” supporting young songwriters with producing, branding, and marketing their music.
