Book 6: Girl Giant and the Monkey King

"Debut author Hoang’s fast-paced fantasy is sure to resonate with middle-grade readers. . . . Realistic character portrayals blend together with fantastical elements as Thom travels on her journey, discovering more about her culture―and herself―while also finding out that legendary gods, much like navigating middle school, can be tricky.

Book 7: The Blackbird Girl

"As soon as Oksana and Valentina emerged from the colored smoke, I needed to know their fate. The girls' adventure feels so real that the reader is immediately caught up in their plight. Bravery hauls them through sticky corruption, stony prejudice, a web of lies, and a lot of danger. A thrilling story!"
